Storage Tips

Handmade soap is very sensitive to humidity and exposure to sunlight or direct strong artificial lighting. This may cause fading of the colors and scents.

For best results, store and display soap away from dampness, humidity or extreme temperatures. Soap should always stay exposed to air - do not store in airtight containers and do not display in windows, direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting.

Essential Oils

Lavender: This well known aroma is obtained by steam distillation of both flowers and stalks. Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils for its wide array of beneficial properties, some of which include cleansing, relaxing, stimulating, and sedating.

Eucalyptus: This penetrating essence is obtained by steam distillation of the twigs and leaves. Its penetrating properties help to relieve tired, stiff, sore muscles and joints when combined with massage. Other properties include stimulating, clearing, refreshing, and cooling.

Lemon: This familiar essence conjures up images of cleanliness and freshness. The oil is obtained by expression from the outer part of the fresh peel. Some of its properties include stimulant, skin freshener, mental focus, and cleanser.

Tea Tree: This oil is distilled from the leaves of the Australian tea tree. It is a gentle but powerful oil which is fast becoming a natural first aid must and contains valuable antiseptic properties.

Ylang Ylang: This oil is steam distilled from the freshly picked Indonesian ylang ylang flowers. It soothes and calms the spirit and body and creates a sense of well-being. It has a rich aroma which makes an intriguing scented soap. Other properties include sensual, calming, and uplifting.

Patchouli: This oil is extracted by steam distillation from the dried leaves of the Indonesian patchouli plant. It is a balancing and uplifting scent with properties that include cleansing, sensual, and moisturizing.

Cedarwood: This oil is steam distilled from the wood of the majestic cedar trees that are native to the Atlas mountains of Morocco. This is a balancing oil, both soothing and uplifting. It is particularly good for times of transition when one needs to feel calm and confident. Some other properties include regenerating, and grounding.
