Artisan Shop
Welcome to Rustic Remnants Artisan Shop located on Goshen Road,
Renfrew, Ontario. Renfrew County is a well known area for
its artisans and studio tours. The Shop contains art work
crafted by Pat Forrest, and consignment work crafted by local high
school students from Renfrew Collegiate Institute.
The name 'Rustic Remnants' fit perfectly into Pat's business idea
- creating and selling items that she makes herself that either
have a ‘rustic’ look and feel to them, or contain ‘remnants’
of old country items that would also fit the rustic theme. This
form of art and decoration has been around for a long time for many
country dwellers, but has now expanded and is favoured by the more
traditional styled homeowners as a new form of decoration. Pat believes
that the right piece of rustic art would be a piece that one wouldn’t
get tired of, but rather art that would age gracefully with time.
Many of the rustic bits of our heritage that will be used in some
of the art pieces include old steel horseshoes, railroad nails,
and any other old metal pieces that can be formed into functional
pieces of art.
Custom work can be done if you're looking for that certain something
special that you want done with some old rustic pieces that you
may have around the house or barn.
